In April 2019, Wipro joined hands with the Government of Karnataka, in collaboration with Azim Premji Foundation, to improve the infrastructure and learning environment at VV Puram (K-12) and MR Nagar (Grade 1-7) schools in Bengaluru Urban South district. The objective was to strengthen government schools in Bengaluru with a focus on improving teaching and learning outcomes. With critical school infrastructure such as toilets, classrooms and laboratories being redeveloped, these two schools are now ready to welcome children.
Our interventions have caused a renewed interest in the community in these schools. For example, without any enrolment campaigns, enrolments at the VV Puram school have gone up by 84%.
